Common mistakes parents make with the AISSEE Class 6 syllabus
- Using an old or unofficial topic list. Always check against the latest NTA bulletin, Appendix II.
- Relying only on school books. More than half of the Maths topics are usually taught after Class 5.
- Skipping Intelligence. Schools don’t teach it, yet it carries 50 marks, the same as GK.
- Leaving current affairs to the last month. Ten minutes a day through the year is far easier.
- Never practising on an OMR sheet. Bubbling answers takes time, and wrong bubbling costs marks.
- Choosing an exam language the child reads slowly. Reading speed affects every section.
Advice for parents:
- Check the NTA AISSEE page every week for the AISSEE 2027 notice, expected in October to November 2026, and apply before the last date.
- Mark the Maths topics your child’s school has not taught yet, and start the Class 7-level ones this week.
- Solve one previous year paper this weekend to find weak areas.
- From week 6, take at least one full 150-minute mock test every week on an OMR sheet.
