Rashtriya Military Schools are English medium CBSE residential Public Schools run by the Ministry of Defence(MoD) to impart quality education to the wards of defence personnel and civilians from Classes 6 to 12. There are five Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS) in India which are located at:

Age Limit and Educational Qualification for Class VI
For a Boy/Girl seeking admission in class 6, following table contains the RMS class 6 eligibility limit. Admission into Classes VI and IX is on the basis of available vacancies. Reservation in Rashtriya Military School Admission
Rashtriya Military Schools have reservation of seats in categories mentioned below:-
(a) 70% of seats are reserved for the wards (Sons/Daughters) of serving and retired JCOs/OR those in the Army, Navy and Air Force.
(b) 30% of seats are reserved for the wards of Officers & Civilians.
(c) 27%, 15% and 7.5% of the seats in each category (excluding Officer Category) are reserved for OBC Non-creamy layer, SC and ST candidates respectively.
(d) A total of 50 seats (Not more than 15 in either of the school) are earmarked for wards of personal killed in action (KIA).
RMS Admission: Guidelines & Seat Quota for Girls

Girls seats in Class 6 : 10% seats or max 30 seats whichever is less (put together in all 05 RMSs) of total seats declared for current Rashtriya Military School CET.
Girls seats in Class 9 : 10% seats (put together in all 05 RMSs) of total seats declared for current Rashtriya Military School CET.

RMS entrance exam consists of 200 marks for both class 6 and class 9. Qualification details for each subject and maximum marks are mentioned in the image below. For class 6: English Score is not counted towards merit.

Rashtriya Military Schools Interview Process 2027
Students who qualify in Written test are called in-person for Interview at any of Five Rashtriya Military Schools. Marks of the interview are added to the score of the written test before deciding the final merit List. No traveling or other allowance is admissible to students in connection with the journey undertaken for the Common Entrance Test or the interview.

Rashtriya Military Schools Result Announcement
Merit list of successful candidates and the school allotment is declared by IHQ of MoD (Army), DGMT/MT-15. No separate intimation is sent to the unsuccessful candidates. However, the final result is available on www.rashtriyamilitaryschools.edu.in
Qualified candidates will be allotted school purely on the basis of Merit and vacancy available in school.
