RIMC Dehradun is a inter services category ‘A’ establishment administered through the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) under aegis of Ministry of Defence for preparing boys & girls for entry into National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla (Pune).
Applications are invited for Boys and Girls for admission to Class 8th in the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun (Uttarakhand) for July 2024 Term which will be conducted at specified centres of respective states on 02 December 2023 (Saturday).

Eligibility date of birth for RIMC July 2024 term
Boys & Girls whose date of birth lies between 02 July 2011 to 01 Jan 2013 are eligible to apply.
Educational Qualification for RIMC Dehradun July 2024 term
Applicant should either be studying in Class 7th or Passed Class 7th from any recognized school at the time of admission to the RIMC, i.e., on 01 July 2024.
We would like to emphasise that a child who is currently studying in class 6 is also eligible to write the entrance exam for RIMC Dehradun. This is because the eligibility criteria for the RIMC Dehradun entrance exam is based on the child’s age, not their current class. As long as the child is born between 2 July 2011, and 01 January 2013, they are eligible to write the exam, even if they are studying in class 6.
RIMC Entrance Exam Schedule
RIMC Dehradun selection process is comprised of three steps:
- Written Exam
- Viva Voce (Interview)
- Medical Examination
1. Written Exam
RIMC Written Examination consists of Subjective exam papers of three subjects. To qualify, a candidate must obtain a minimum of 50 % marks in each subject.
a) Mathematics – 200 marks
b) General Knowledge – 75 marks
c) English – 125 marks
Timings for RIMC Dehradun written exam for above three subjects is as following:
a) Mathematics : (09:30 – 11:00 Hrs)
b) General Knowledge (12:00-13:00 hrs)
c) English (14:30-16:30 hrs)
All three subjective tests are conducted on same day.
2. Viva Voce (Interview) 50 marks
The VIVA-VOCE is held for only those candidates who qualify in the written Examination. The date and venue for Viva-Voce is intimated to selected candidates by respective State Governments. Intelligence, personality and Communication Skills of the candidates is tested in the Viva-Voce.
3. Medical Examination
All the candidates qualified after Viva-Voce undergo a medical examination at selected Military Hospitals and only those candidates who are found medically fit are considered for selection and admission to the RIMC.

Procedure to obtain RIMC Application forms
Primarily there are two ways to obtain RIMC Prospectus-cum-Application Form and Booklet of Old Question Papers:
A) Online Payment: By making an Online Payment of Rs. 600/- for General Candidates & Rs. 555/- for SC/ST Candidates on RIMC website www.rimc.gov.in.
B) By Sending Demand Draft: The Prospectus-cum-Application Form and Booklet of Old Question Papers can be obtained from the Rashtriya Indian Military College, Garhi Cantt, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Pin-248003

List of RIMC exam centres in India
Examination centres are generally located in the state capitals or in cities/towns as advertised.
The wards of service personnel, para military personnel and other central govt employees with transferable job may submit the application form in the state of domicile or the state where they are posted.
However, their candidature will be considered from their original domicile state.

Kindly note the filled-in application forms should be sent to the state address only and not to the RIMC, Dehradun. Last date for RIMC application submission for July 2024 term is 15 October 2023. (Last date may be revised)
